Dear CAWC Family,
At Companion Animal Wellness Center, our primary goal has always been to foster the health and bond of pets and their humans. Current circumstances bring this mission into even sharper focus. We feel a strong responsibility to do our part to protect the safety and wellbeing of our clients, staff, and local community, and deeply appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Until further notice, we ask that clients call on arrival and wait in your vehicle until your purchase is prepared or we are able to come out and start your appointment (new clients: we can bring paperwork out to your car!). We’ll be taking histories and discussing plans curbside, and will bring patients into the clinic to complete exams and diagnostics. Our hope is that this will minimize potential exposure for the vulnerable and allow us to more easily maintain a safe, clean environment.
If you are experiencing any symptoms of respiratory illness or fever, we ask that you please stay home — there will be no cancellation or rescheduling fee and we are happy to move your appointment for you. If you are ill but your pet is in need of care, please call us so that we can help coordinate a plan. Should you need refills of medications or flea, tick, or heartworm preventatives, we encourage you to order from our online store; the link can be found in the upper righthand corner of our homepage. We understand that in these uncertain times, finances are of increased concern. Know that we will meet you where you are and work together to find a solution for your pet. As always, we offer ScratchPay as a third party payment option; application does not impact your credit score.
It is a privilege to care for your family, and we will continue to do so as long as we are able to provide a safe environment for clients and our valued staff. Our social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram) and phone messages will updated with any changes to hours or availability.

At Companion Animal Wellness Center, we know our relationship with YOU is key to providing exceptional health care for your pet. Every person, dog or cat that comes through our door is unique and deserves care customized for their unique needs. It is our pleasure to design veterinary care that helps maximize the number of healthy, happy years you spend with your pets.
Companion Animal Wellness Center has been an AAHA-accredited animal hospital (see below) since 2004. We specialize in providing primary preventive care for your dog, cat, and/or pocket pet, as well as education for you.
How Our Veterinary Hospital Came To Be
We opened our animal clinic in Poulsbo, WA in 2003. The trend towards large corporate entities and big box stores in veterinary medicine was just beginning. Our vision was different: stay small enough to know each of our clients and patients as individuals. Our beautiful location overlooking Liberty Bay is staffed with caring, professional veterinarians. We are located mid-way between and convenient to both Poulsbo and Bainbridge Island, Washington.
